Vista and Live messenger?

Error code: 81000306

I am sure my firewall is not blocking windows live messenger, but I do have a wireless connection. Could that be causing the problem? Or could it be a different issue. I have un-intstalled and re-installed live messenger a number of times but with the same problem. I have troubleshooted after live messenger failed to sign me in and everything is working fine apart from the wireless section of it.
