Ok so I just got windows vista installed and I like it but it runs a ton of process and with my zone alarm security suite running on start up and the rest of it. It takes a long time to boot up. So does anybody have any tips to getting rid of some process. I mean 40 process is ridicious my xp was only running 29. I mean I no how to turn them off I just dont know what to turn off. Thanks for any help.

Hi again I noticed that I was running 12 scvhost.exe process. Is this completley necessary and if not how can I remove them.

Hello, Windows Vista uses way more memory than XP. I think the verdict is out on whether or not this is justified. But there are still ways to speed up Vista besides getting new hardware.
