Unhappy HP won't turn off completly
I recently bought a HP a6040n mid tower pc and I'm having a problem.
When I hit either the shut down or the hibernate button it will shut down all right, but then the power button stays on and the fans go full speed. I press the power button again and it comes back on like normal.

I only want my pc to shut down completely.

Here is what my pc has
• 2GB of DDR2 memory
• Intel Core 2 Duo E6320
• Windows Vista Home Premium

I put it a new video card and power supply on it recently too.
My Power Options are on the Energy Star option, on the defaults.

Help please?

Try ti do this:

Got to Control Panel> Performance and Maintenance> Power Option> Advanced
and select "Shut down" in the "When I press the power button on my computer" section.

Thanks, but I had tried that already x3;

The problem was fixed, the power supply was acting funny. I thought it had to do something with vista, since I'm still a new user and all.

I still prefer XP over Vista : /
