Hi, again I was getting lock-ups using the 175.16 betas (similar to 175.12) and so have returned back to 174.75 which really do seem like the real deal..
Nvidia has two teams working on driver support, which explains the multiple releases.

I know ATI's normal releases are sketchy enough I sure would not want to try their beta

Well.. As you know it's the luck of the draw really, these 174.74 betas work great for me and my set-up. I'm sure the other betas work just as well for somebody else..

Nvidia has released a new set of Whqls numbered 175.16, get them here:
NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search
This driver is for all flavours XP and Vista..

Just given it a quick try by playing Crysis and it ran great, crisp clear picture...
Also gave the best score in 3Dmark 06 to date...

Update: I've since rolled back to 169.44 beta as the above driver started acting like it's beta and crashing my machine... Shame but not every release is a winner. Saying this though, for others the driver may run fine especially if they are running the later 9 series cards..

Ran both Beta and WHQL versions of 175.16 without any problems.
Can't say there has been any recent driver released by NVIDIA that has caused crash or made rig unstable although I have not been running any high specs. games

Hi superbill,
looks like that release is good for you.. For me, it was making my machine crash when in screensaver mode.. I run the 'Boinc' software which utilises your screensaver time into a worthwhile project.. There are many projects ranging from SETi to searching for cures in the medical field.. I'm currently running one that looks for nuetron stars.. Anyhow as I said the graphics driver would cause the crash when the screensaver was running so I'm now running the 174.74 set which seem to be ok..
As I mentioned to fatboy I'm still getting the occasional lock-up and I can't find the reason why...Very frustrating! I'll find it in the end though, mark my words
