Upgraing video andram

I don't know if this has already been posted or not, but I have a question about the Vista EULA. I have a HP model a6110n computer and want to upgrade the video to a nvidia GeForce 9600GT card and upgrade the system ram from 2 gig to 4. Will I have to reactivate my copy of Vista which came preinstalled? Hows does this work exactly?

Re: Upgraing video andram

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum.

Usually it's only after changing your motherboard that a OEM licence needs renewing (your also allowed to change your CPU once too). I have heard of stories where a user has had to re-'activate' windows after only a minor upgrade but I've personally never found this to be so.

Re: Upgrading video and ram

So I should be OK with the upgrade? I'm just trying to get and Idea what to expect. I've upgraded computers before but never with Vista and I've been hearing about having to reactivate the OS.
Thanks for the welcome and advice.
