WinVista loses data, corrupts usb drives

I have a new HP pc with 300 gig drive, 4 gig ram, etc, running winvista ultimate. It corrupts my backup usb dram directories, corrupts my usb backup hard drives and is just impossible to use. I am sorry I ever purchased winvista.

Is there a cure to usb problems with vista ultimate?
