I here ya I don't like Icons either I use object dock.

I've tried it and at times it's quite handy. Macs have been using something similar for years but for me it's still too many icons I'm afraid...

I don't usually have anything on my desktop at all but I found Object dock yesterday and thought I'd give it a try.

Mine is not that much but, it's the kinda colors I enjoy. And I wish someone would point me in the direction of some nice trees style desktop.
