Windows Vista Services Not Loading Correctly
Helllo:

I am a average computer user. I have a Dell laptop model E1705 from which recently I have upgraded the operating system from Windows XP to Windows Vista. I would like help with an issue described as: At start up Windows Vista does not load all services. The display for Windows Vista has been downgraded from Windows Aero to a more basic display. I can restore this by running a check disk for C: however this is tedious and irritating. I would like to post this problem so that if any other users have experienced this and found a solution. Since my computer's operating system has changed from original Dell will not provide support.

Thanks, williamekennedy

This is the answer I gave in your similar post:
http://winvistaforums.com/general-di...o-problem.html

As I already have said your graphics card is either not up to running the aero interface or you need to re-install/update the driver..

Hi williamekennedy

Perhaps you could post the specs. of the E1705 as the one I looked at had just 512MB RAM and Intel 945PM Chipset.

From what I've seen so far most PC's that came with XP don't have enough Horsepower to run Vista You need a minimum of 1Gb to run vista

Yep.........quite right fatboy. If you have a laptop a few years old that had XP installed then chances are you will have to upgrade it to get Vista to run anything like half decent. Even then if you are stuck with certain onboard graphics, you will still struggle.
