Smile Windows Vista
Hello folks, glad to know I'm not the only slow poke in this wonder filled world of MS. I'm more than curious as to why Windows keeps getting harder to understand as the newer versions surface. Back when I was a little younger and having fun with DOS it never occured to me that I would get into this much confusion. My latest game was when something shut down my Dell 6400 last month and I tried to reinstall my OEM version when I was suddenly donloading an upgrade version Of Vista and now don't have email or sound and maybe some other ailment that hasn,t surfaced yet.
I am learning more about patience however and will no doubt find a remedy for my young machine.

Best wishes to all you diehards

I love vista but it can be a pain to work the bugs out of it.

Re: Windows Vista
Hi noncompus

Welcome aboard.
Everyone of us has and still is having problems either trivial or otherwise with Vista related problems. Its the nature of the beast !!!!!! Believe me I have been there but survived it.
One thing I have found is that the higher spec. of equipment I have, the fewer problems I seem to encounter. Perhaps when Microsoft recommended minimum requirements for running Vista, they could have added a bit on.
Many laptops run with the minimum recommended requirements for running Vista and when certain functions are used such as playing modern games, things can go pear-shaped.
Perhaps you could post back the specs. of your laptop i.e. processor, RAM, graphics, Vista version etc. and we will try and help.!!!!
