Humm,
thank you so much. I will be around as long as I can be thats for sure. And if I can help I am always willing. I for one have never understood the sometimes heated and hated feelings expressed about Vista, as I find it a step in the right direction. And I also feel that the next operating system Windows 7 will be even bigger than Vista but, will likely do many more fancy things than Vista already does. Though I do understand why some feel left out as Vista really needs hardware to properly run it. And software to properly it's fancy things it can do. But, just because one can not use it or use it fast enough on their present machines, is really not a call to bash it. XP was a great operating system and still is but, it's old news. Vista is still new news until Windows 7, and then Vista will be old news.

Like they say you have to pay to play. And thats certainly true with the newer operating systems, be they Mac or PC. And by the way since I come from a Mac background, I enjoy the PC even more now days.

Re: Unregistered Posters
What all these XP users don't realise is that Windows 7 is basically going to be a repackaged vista. They are not going to even rewrite the kernal so if your a vista user now then it's a big plus.
As you mention vista runs equal to XP 'if' you have the hardware for it to do so. 2GB of RAM has to be a minimum here as well as a decent chip. Perhaps they'll work on this for the next os release but I guess we will have to wait and see..

Re: Unregistered Posters
Well probably they should work on it but, the way I likely see it they won't exactly be that kind. It might be Vista is now in that it takes newer, better, fancier hardware to run everything it has to offer; and I suspect this trend will carry on to the next operating system Microsoft offers to us. It all comes down to having to pay to play and I don't see this discontinuing any time soon.

Re: Unregistered Posters
Sorry to resurrect this thread again, but dragging it back to the title and adding strength to fatboys posting (No 6 on Page 1) --
A couple of days ago I was following an interesting thread. In the end it became quite confusing as to who was offering advice and who was wanting advice, with three active unregistered posters operating.
Perhaps some serious consideration should be given to methods to stop this happening?

Should website visitors need to register to post?
Several members of the website are asking for this change to be made - but I am reluctant to do so since many posts by people who do not want to register can be useful and informative. What do you think? Based on the results of this poll, we will decide whether or not to require member registration.

This poll will close on November 1st, 2008. (Also, it should be noted that unregistered users cannot vote in polls.)
