I am coming here in hopes that someone can help me. I had these speakers playing on this exact computer in the past, since I reinstalled windows XP and cannot get them playing again. I know they work since I plugged them into a boom box. When I go to sounds and audio devices it tells me there is no audio devise. Do I need a driver for a speaker? I know I have a sound card since I had these speakers working on here before. My speakers are GE, I went to the site but couldn't find anything about drivers. Can you help me. I would like to get them working again.

to help I will need to know a few things

1) do you have a seperate sound card or is the sound system built into the motherboard ?

2) if they are built into the motherboard do you have all the disks that came with the computer ?

if not I will need to know the make and model of the computer (or motherboard) to direct you to the correct drivers

3) if this is a seperate sound card do you have all the disk that came with it ?

and again if not I will need to know what sound card you have to direct you to the correct drivers
