Oop's, SP1 lost my sound card so was uninstalled. The geek at Dell remotely fixed it. The card had been removed from the system along with the drivers. It's a SigmaTel card so I will now just have to wait till MS come up with a fix. Nil Desperandum though, It's got to be worth having SP1 cos everything else did seem to be quicker and worked better. Note, SimaTel high defintion audio codec users beware
